If they follow someone's name, then academic degrees are capitalized.
John Doe, Bachelor of Arts
Specific degrees, when used without a name, should be lowercased, but you can get away with capitalizing them.
General references to a degree, such as "doctorate," "master's," etc. are lowercased.
